Free Guides for Ecce Homo

An Epic of the Last Three Years of Jesus of Nazareth

The cover of Ecce Homo: a dirt road between olive trees, climbing toward Jerusalem and the Temple at sunset

I am a Catholic catechist, and I have taught the faith in my parish for many years. I made these two small guides for anyone who wants to stay a little longer with the scenes in this book: on your own, with someone you love, or with a group in your parish. They cost nothing. Print them, share them, and use them in whatever way helps you pray.

For readers

A Reader's Guide

26 pages · For reading alone, with a husband or wife, or with a friend

A quiet companion to keep beside the book. Most of it is questions, asked slowly, with no answers to look up at the back.

  • Questions for each of the 25 chapters
  • Reading plans for Advent and for Lent
  • A simple way to pray with a scene
  • Seven days of Easter Gospel readings for the week after you finish

For parish leaders

A Leader's Guide

29 pages · For parish groups, OCIA, and book clubs

Everything you need to lead a group through the book, one evening at a time. You do not need to have the answers.

  • Four sessions for Advent and six for Lent
  • A second Lent plan that follows the Sunday Gospels, with the scrutiny readings for OCIA
  • One page per session, ready to print and hand out
  • An opening and a closing prayer for every session
  • An announcement you can copy into your parish bulletin
